This weeks picture is a slightly off center view of the Kansas State Capital building dome as seen from the 2nd floor. The Capital building is undergoing renovation on the outside but the inside is ever ornate and stunning.
At the bidding of the Editor-In-Chief of this outfit a trip to Topeka was planned. The occasion was the Kansas Book Festival with the opportunity to listen to famed author Joel Rosenberg who would be speaking in the House of Representatives chamber. For my efforts (and provided I did not burp, snore, fall out of my chair or do anything to cause people to look in our direction) I would be able to spend quality time in the famous Topeka Wolfe Camera store. I did my best to look stately.
Those early to the chamber were rewarded with a choice of their seats to include those occupied by the Representatives when the house is in session. For a few brief moments we sat amongst historical elegance.
